The Grand Bear Match Play Championship will be a 4 round, single elimination tournament to determine the all out, head to head "Best Player on the Coast". This Championship is open to any male or female residing anywhere in the world.
**2008 and 2009 Coast Amateur and Coast Open Champions will be given an exemption from qualifying and an invitation directly into the Championship Flight with a random seeding of 1-4.**

| Flights |

| Flights will be determined by the players best qualifying round score. Each flight will consist of 16 players and the number of flights will be determined by the number of qualifiers with a maximum of 96 players or 6 filled flights. |

| Qualifying Information |

All entrants will play an 18 hole stroke play qualifying round to determine their flight and seeding within the flight. Entrants may sign up for any available tee time from Sunday, August 23-Thursday, September 3 through the Grand Bear Pro Shop (excluding Fri. and Sat.). Qualifying rounds must be played with at least one other qualifier and players may qualify as many times as they wish throughout that week in order to improve their flight prestige and seeding. Grand Bear is closed every Tuesday.
PLAYERS THAT PLAYED IN THE 2009 COAST OPEN MAY USE THEIR SCORE FROM GRAND BEAR AS THEIR QUALIFYING SCORE.
Fees: Upon first qualifying round, the tournament fee of $130 and qualifying of $26.75 will be due. Any further attempts at qualifying to better flight and seed will be $26.75 per attempt. A player may attempt as many times as he/she wishes.

| Championship Rounds |

| Four Championship Rounds will take place over Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th. Round 1 tee times will start at 8 am off hole 1. Round 2 will start at approximately 1 pm. The Semi-final round will start on Sunday, September 6th at 8 am off hole 1. The final round will start at approximately 1 pm to determine the Grand Bear Match Play Champion. |

| Successful Qualifiers |

| Successful Qualifiers will be determined by Thrusday, September 3rd at 5:00 pm. Flights and seedings will then be determined and pairings and tee times posted. |

| Practice Rounds |
|---|
| Practice rounds will be available from Sunday, August 30th through Thursday, September 3rd with a tournament rate of $37.45. Grand Bear is closed for play every Tuesday. |

| Purse |

Gift certificates will be awarded to players finishing in the top 4 of each flight. Based on a full field, the Championship purse will be as follows:

Interstate 10 to Exit 34B (Hwy 49 North in Gulfport). Continue 8 miles North to Grand Way Blvd on East side of Hwy 49 (Grand Bear billboard on west side of 49 at entrance). Turn onto Grand Way Blvd and continue 6 miles through the Desoto National Forest.
